Tripura, 25 July, 2025: In a significant boost to religious tourism and cultural preservation, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday laid the foundation stone for two key tourism infrastructure projects at Maa Kasbeshwari Temple in Kamalasagar and Chaturdasha Devata Bari in Khayerpur.
Both sites, deeply rooted in Tripura’s Sanatan heritage and royal legacy, are set to be developed into modern and tourist-friendly destinations with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The ADB has sanctioned ₹18.78 crore for the comprehensive development of tourism facilities at Maa Kasbeshwari Temple, originally established by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, and ₹13.63 crore for Chaturdasha Devata Bari, founded by Maharaja Krishna Kishore Manikya.

Speaking at the ceremonial event held at Kasba, CM Saha highlighted the state’s rich cultural and religious traditions. “Tripura, a sacred land of Sanatan culture, is home to numerous revered sites. With this initiative, we aim to preserve our heritage while making these spiritual centers more accessible and attractive to pilgrims and tourists,” he said.
The project aims to include infrastructure upgrades, amenities for visitors, and improved connectivity, aligning with the state’s broader push to position Tripura as a significant destination for religious and cultural tourism.
