Tripura, 25 May 2025: Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu flagged off the “Sundays on Cycle” event this morning in front of the Ujjayanta Palace. Organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the event aims to raise awareness about fitness and build a pollution-free future under the Fit India Movement, a component of the Khelo India initiative.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor emphasized the need for similar events in every district of the state and urged SAI to take proactive steps in that direction.

Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Tinku Roy, highlighted the significant improvement in sports infrastructure across the state over the past five years. He also announced plans to develop dedicated cycling tracks in Tripura.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department; S.B. Nath, Director; Laxman Dongari, Joint Director of SAI; and John F. Kharsingh, General Secretary of the North-East Sports Association.
During the ceremony, Governor Nallu also felicitated Arjuna Awardees Montu Debnath and Gopesh Debnath for their outstanding contributions to Indian sports.
