Agartala, May 22, 2025: In a heartwarming development for wildlife lovers and conservationists, a tigress at Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary in Tripura has given birth to three healthy cubs. The news was shared by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on social media, calling it an “exciting” moment and celebrating the arrival of the “future kings and queens of the forest.”



Taking to his official social media handles, Dr. Saha wrote,
“Exciting news… Future kings & queens of the forest arrive in Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary. A tigress in Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary has given birth to 3 adorable cubs. Let’s give a warm welcome to these little bundles of joy & wish them a safe & thriving life in the wild.”
The birth of the cubs is a significant milestone for the sanctuary, which has been working consistently towards wildlife conservation and breeding of endangered species. Forest officials confirmed that both the mother and the cubs are in healthy condition and are being monitored closely in a protected enclosure.
Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, located about 25 km from Agartala, is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna and has been a key center for wildlife tourism and conservation efforts in the state.
Wildlife experts see this event as a positive indicator of a healthy habitat and successful conservation efforts. “The birth of these tiger cubs is not just a joyful event it’s a testament to the sanctuary’s thriving ecosystem,” said a senior forest officer.
