New Delhi, May 13, 2025: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, held a meeting today with the National People’s Party (NPP) delegation led by Party President Conrad Sangma at Nirvachan Sadan. This interaction is part of the Election Commission of India’s ongoing initiative to engage with presidents of various national and state political parties. These meetings aim to provide a platform for constructive discussions, allowing party leaders to share their views, concerns, and suggestions directly with the Commission.

The Commission emphasised that such dialogues are crucial for strengthening the electoral process through mutual understanding and cooperation, in alignment with the existing legal framework.
Earlier, the Commission had similar interactions with the Bahujan Samaj Party, led by Party President Kumari Mayawati on May 6, the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda on May 8, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), represented by General Secretary M.A. Baby on May 10. As part of its continued outreach efforts, the Election Commission has so far facilitated a total of 4,719 all-party meetings across the country.
This includes 40 meetings conducted by Chief Electoral Officers, 800 by District Electoral Officers, and 3,879 by Electoral Registration Officers, collectively engaging over 28,000 political party representatives nationwide.
