Tripura, April 28, 2025: In a disturbing incident of political violence, miscreants launched a brutal attack on the vehicle of prominent BJP leader Vinod Debbarma late Monday night in Simna. Debbarma, who contested the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections from Simna as the BJP candidate, narrowly escaped harm as he was not inside the vehicle at the time of the attack.
The incident took place outside his residence near Hezamara Bazar. According to reports, the assailants targeted his vehicle bearing registration number TR 03 BL 0303 while it was parked in front of his house. Fortunately, no one was inside the car when the attack occurred. Speaking to the media, Vinod Debbarma confirmed the incident and expressed concern over the motive behind such an act.
He stated that he has already informed the BJP state president about the attack. “IPFT and TIPRA Motha are now part of the ruling alliance, so I don’t understand why such an attack would happen,” he said, hinting at possible political undertones.
