Case Filed Against Government Employee for Sharing Distorted Image of Prime Minister; Accused Arrested
Tripura, 26 April 2025: Separate cases have been registered at Churaibari and Kadamtala police stations against a young man for sharing a controversial image of the country’s Prime Minister on social media. The first case was filed at Churaibari Police Station by Raju Pal and others on behalf of the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Kadamtala unit.
The second case was filed at Kadamtala Police Station on behalf of the BJP’s North District Committee. According to Raju Pal, President of the Kadamtala unit, and BJP leader Rupali Adhikari, the accused youth has been identified as Mansur Ali, a resident of the Kalachhara area. He is employed at the Kadamtala Fire Service Department.

They alleged that Mansur Ali shared an image on Facebook where the faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were morphed onto dogs’ bodies and tied with ropes.
Since all four are high-profile BJP leaders, the BJP’s North District leadership decided to file a complaint. Vishva Hindu Parishad leaders said that the distorted posting of the Prime Minister’s image deeply hurt their sentiments.
Questions have also been raised about how a government employee could engage in such behavior. They demanded strict action against the accused. Upon receiving the complaints, the Kadamtala police promptly arrested Mansur Ali. He reportedly confessed to his actions during interrogation. Police stated that legal proceedings will be initiated against him.
