Thirparappu, Kanyakumari | April 19 | SHABD: Taking advantage of the extended holiday weekend, hundreds of tourists thronged the scenic Thirparappu Falls in Kanyakumari district, popularly known as the “Courtallam of Kanyakumari.” With the recent rains replenishing dry riverbeds and water bodies that had faced drought-like conditions just weeks ago, the Kodhai River is now flowing in full force, resulting in a spectacular cascade at the Thirparappu Falls. The roaring waters have become a major attraction, drawing visitors from across Tamil Nadu, nearby districts, and even from neighbouring Kerala.
Tourists, including families and children, arrived at the falls from early morning and were seen enjoying the gushing waters. Many took to the natural pool beneath the falls to bathe and cool off, while others explored nearby attractions including the children’s park and the adjacent swimming pool.
Local authorities have deployed staff to manage the crowd and ensure safety as the area continues to witness a surge in footfall. With summer temperatures on the rise and water levels restored by recent showers, Thirparappu Falls has emerged as a refreshing getaway for tourists seeking a scenic and relaxing break.
