From April 4, 2025, to June 2, 2025, the District Magistrate of Gomati has imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in areas within 300 meters of the Indo-Bangladesh border under Karbook Subdivision. As per the order, movement of civilians between 6 PM and 6 AM in the specified area is strictly prohibited without prior permission from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Karbook.
Additionally, gathering of more than four persons without approval from local authorities has been banned. Except for police personnel, CRPF, and BSF on duty, no individual is allowed to carry sticks, firearms, or any kind of weaponry. Violation of this order will be treated as a punishable offense under Section 223 of the BNSS, and legal action will be taken accordingly.
However, the restriction does not apply to police personnel, security forces, government employees, and residents living within the 300-meter stretch of the border. This notification was issued by the Karbook Sub-Divisional Administration.
