Tripura 20 March, 2025: To enhance the socioeconomic status of poor fishermen in rural areas, the Amarpur Fisheries Supervisor Office has implemented various programs for the 2024-25 financial year. A total of 3,154 fishing families in the Amarpur Block area have benefited from these initiatives.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, ₹65,57,600 has been spent on activities such as pond excavation, distribution of fish feed, and fingerlings, benefiting 217 fishing families.
Under the Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, ₹27,48,000 has been utilized for different programs, benefiting 254 fishing families. In the Fisheries Assistance Scheme for the 2024-25 financial year, financial aid of ₹6,000 each has been provided to 44 families.
Additionally, financial assistance has been extended to 2,123 fishing families affected by recent floods, with a total expenditure of ₹25,40,000. Moreover, 150 flood-affected fishing families have received fish feed, fingerlings, and other necessary support.
