Tripura 13 March, 2025: Incidents of high-speed sand-laden vehicles have become a common sight across various regions, frequently leading to accidents. A similar incident occurred today around 10:30 AM in the Dauchhara area of West Ghilatali under Kalyanpur Police Station. A sand-laden Bolero pickup truck, bearing registration number TR 01 Z 1818, lost control and veered off the road. Local residents immediately gathered at the spot and informed the Kalyanpur Fire Service Department.
Fire service personnel rushed to the scene and rescued the driver along with three others, who were then taken to Kalyanpur Community Health Centre for medical treatment. Though the injuries were not severe, the persistent issue of reckless driving by sand-laden vehicles has sparked fear among locals and pedestrians. Many commuters and residents have raised concerns over the unchecked speeding of these vehicles.
Some believe that the limited time frame granted by the Forest Department for sand transportation compels certain drivers to operate at dangerously high speeds. Given the recurring nature of such incidents, there is a growing demand for immediate intervention to ensure safer roads and prevent further accidents.
