Tripura 12 March, 2025: The traditional Bankul Mahamuni Festival and Fair will commence on March 13 at the Bankul Mahamuni Temple in the Rupaichhari Block of Sabroom. The five-day event will continue until March 17.
The festival and fair, jointly organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, Sabroom Sub-Divisional Administration, and the Mahamuni Development Society, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at 4 PM.
Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, MLA Mailafru Mog, MDC Kangjaong Mog, and TTTADC CEO Chandra Kumar Jamatia will attend as special guests. Rupaichhari BAC Chairman Rakhi Tripura and Rupaichhari Block BDO Abhijit Majumder will be present as esteemed guests.
The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Deepak Dutta. During the five-day festival, Buddhist religious rituals will be performed, and various government departments will set up exhibition stalls at the fair. Additionally, cultural programs featuring local and outstation artists will be held every evening.
