Tripura, March 11: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday emphasized the importance of quality education, stating that only well-educated students can become the driving force of the nation. He was addressing the 4th Foundation Day celebration of Lipika Dasgupta Memorial School (English Medium) at Purba Gokulnagar, Bishalgarh.
Highlighting the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP), the Chief Minister said the state’s education sector has undergone significant transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out various government initiatives aimed at enhancing education, including the Super 30 project, Chief Minister’s Merit Award for children of police personnel, Talent Search Program, Smart Classes, and the establishment of English medium schools. He also mentioned the PM-Janman Project, vocational education programs, and free bicycle distribution for girl students.
Commending the school’s decision to include Kokborok alongside English and Bengali, the Chief Minister said this initiative would promote linguistic diversity and strengthen communal harmony in the state.

Minister for Forest, Science & Technology Animesh Debbarma, who was present as a guest, also appreciated the introduction of Kokborok in the school curriculum. He said this move would help students develop multilingual proficiency while fostering stronger inter-community relationships.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sipahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das (Dutta), MLAs Antara Sarkar Deb and Sushanta Deb, Trustee of the school Dr. Gaurav Dasgupta, MD Dr. Alekhya Dasgupta, and Trustee Dr. Olivia Dasgupta, who delivered the vote of thanks.
