Jammu, March 7 (SHABD): Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik conducted a comprehensive inspection tour of agricultural development initiatives across Reasi district, highlighting significant progress in the region’s agricultural transformation. As part of the tour, DC Malik inaugurated a state-of-the-art polyhouse at Bagga, established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
She emphasized the importance of documenting success stories to encourage local farmers to adopt modern farming techniques. During her visit to the Fruit Plant Nursery in Dokezibagh, she planted avocado saplings at the district’s first-ever Avocado Mother Block.
Speaking on the occasion, she noted that this initiative represents not only agricultural innovation but also a pathway to sustainable livelihoods for farmers. To further strengthen agricultural sustainability and farmer prosperity, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Horticulture Officer to expand the production of high-quality plant material for distribution to farmers across the district. The inspection tour was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, and other concerned officials.
