Tripura 5 March, 2025: The Kamalpur Traffic Unit conducted a special drive in the town today under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Paritosh Deb to tackle illegal parking and traffic congestion.
A few days ago, public announcements were made urging vehicle owners to avoid parking haphazardly, especially during office and school hours. It was also advised that large goods-carrying vehicles should not operate during peak hours. However, despite these warnings, many heavy vehicles continued to unload goods in front of shops, causing severe traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public.
In today’s operation, traffic personnel clamped several illegally parked vehicles, including four to five cars and autos. Notably, even a BSF vehicle was not spared, sending a strong message that traffic rules apply to all, including government vehicles. Additionally, speeding bikers without helmets were also penalized.
SI Paritosh Deb urged vehicle owners, drivers, and shopkeepers to cooperate in keeping Kamalpur town free from traffic congestion. He also announced that similar drives would be conducted in other major market areas under the Kamalpur police station, including Manikbhandar and Halhuali.
