Khowai District DISHA Meeting Held to Review Development Projects
Tripura 5 March, 2025: The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Khowai District Magistrate’s conference hall. The meeting was attended by Kriti Devi Singh Debbarma, Member of Parliament from the East Tripura constituency, along with MLA Ranjit Debbarma, TTAADC EM Kamal Koloi, District Magistrate Rajat Pant, and other district officials.
The meeting reviewed various centrally sponsored schemes implemented in the district, including MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), national highways, health, electricity, drinking water, and others. Discussions covered fund allocations, ongoing work, completed projects, and progress under each scheme.
During the meeting, MLA Ranjit Debbarma raised concerns regarding MGNREGA payments, questioning when the pending wages of the last six months would be released to the workers.
He warned that if payments were not made soon, MGNREGA workers might start protests. In response, the District Magistrate informed that ₹9 crore was pending under MGNREGA in Khowai district and assured that the dues would be cleared by March. The meeting also saw extensive discussions on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other developmental projects.
