Agartala, February 25, 2025: The state-level Basanta Utsav will be celebrated on March 16 at the BT College premises. This decision was made today at a preparatory meeting held in the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office. The meeting was presided over by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumdar. During the meeting, Mayor Deepak Majumdar emphasized that Basanta Utsav is a festival of colors. He stated that this year’s celebration would be organized in a new format and on a larger scale.
The festival will highlight Holigeet (songs) and dance performances from various cultural traditions, including Manipur, Rabindra, Vaishnav, and Indigenous Holi songs and dances, following the rich heritage of Tripura. He urged everyone to contribute to making the festival a grand success. West Tripura Zilla Parishad Assistant Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar also called for efforts to ensure the festival’s success.
The meeting was attended by members of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Additional District Magistrate Sajal Biswas, BDOs of Old Agartala and Dukli blocks, officials from various departments, and members of the State and West District Cultural Advisory Committees.
