Shimla, February 25, 2025: Camps are being organized in Kangra district under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samriddhi Sah Yojana to benefit fishermen and fish farmers. The primary objective of these camps is to provide digital IDs to fishermen and ensure they receive the benefits of government schemes. Director of the Fisheries Department, Vivek Chandel, stated that awareness camps are being conducted across the state to educate people about the supplementary scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
As part of these camps, digital IDs are being created for individuals involved in the fisheries sector. Assistant Director of Fisheries, Pong Reservoir, Sandeep Kumar, mentioned that under the scheme, the government is registering fishermen, fish farmers, fish traders, and fry fish shop owners. Through this registration, they will receive digital IDs, enabling them to access various government benefits. This initiative will continue until February 22.
