Dharamshala, February 25, 2025: In a significant step toward enhancing road safety and transparency, traffic rule violations in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra, Chamba, Una, and Hamirpur districts will now be monitored through body cameras. This initiative aims to ensure a transparent challan process and enable close supervision of traffic inspectors’ conduct. The RTO Flying Squad in Dharamshala has equipped three traffic inspectors with body cameras that include SIM card functionality.
These devices allow real-time monitoring and recording of the challan process. The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure that traffic inspectors maintain appropriate conduct during challan issuance, preventing any instances of misconduct or bribery.
With body cameras in place, every interaction and transaction will be recorded, facilitating accountability for both parties involved. This move is expected to improve compliance with road safety regulations and bring greater transparency to the traffic management system.
