Elderly Woman Battles for Life After Being Hit by a Scooter While Returning Home from Bathing
Tripura 22 Feb, 2025: An elderly woman, Kajal Das (61+), wife of the late Sushil Das, is in critical condition after being hit by a scooter while crossing the national highway on her way home from a pond bath. She is a resident of the Brick Kiln area under Bishramganj Police Station.
On Saturday afternoon, as Kajal Das was crossing the national highway after her regular bath, an unregistered scooter speeding along the road struck her violently. The impact threw her onto the highway, causing severe head injuries, along with injuries to her arms, legs, and chest.
Hearing the loud crash, locals from the Brick Kiln market rushed to the scene and informed the Bishramganj Fire Brigade. Responding quickly, the fire brigade arrived and rushed the critically injured woman to Bishramganj Primary Health Center. Due to the severity of her condition, doctors referred her to Agartala GB Pant Hospital for further treatment.
At the hospital, Kajal Das’s daughter, Sabita Das, was seen wailing and crying out in distress as her mother battled for her life.
