Police suspect that a drug syndicate is operating near Agartala Railway Station, with Jhuton Nam being one of its members. Authorities have intensified their surveillance and are expected to arrest more individuals linked to this network soon.
Another Drug Peddler Arrested in Rani Bazar
In a separate operation, Agartala GRP Police, with the support of Rani Bazar Police Station, arrested another drug peddler from Sonamani Sipahipara last night. The accused, identified as Bimal Debbarma (32), son of late Surya Kumar Debbarma, is a resident of Sonamani Sipahipara, Rani Bazar, West Tripura.
Bimal Debbarma is suspected to be the supplier of the 298.55 kg of dry cannabis that was seized from six pantry boys at Agartala Railway Station on November 17, 2024. The six individuals were caught while attempting to smuggle the contraband out of Tripura via Deoghar Express and are currently in judicial custody.
A special team from GRP Police is conducting an intense interrogation of the accused, and several drug peddlers operating near Agartala Railway Station are expected to be arrested soon. Authorities believe that this arrest will lead to the dismantling of a larger drug network in the region.
