Feb 20, Pulwama: The Animal Husbandry Department in Pulwama has introduced Mobile Veterinary Services under the 1962 helpline to strengthen emergency veterinary care for livestock in the district. This initiative aims to provide timely and critical medical support for animals, improving livestock health and productivity. India has witnessed significant growth in livestock production, including milk.
The newly launched mobile service is designed to ensure prompt veterinary assistance at the doorstep of livestock owners. It focuses on medical, surgical, obstetric, and zoonotic disease management while regulating antibiotic use in food-producing animals. The service ensures round-the-clock emergency care for animals by dispatching veterinary teams directly to the site.
This initiative is expected to enhance rural livelihoods by maintaining animal health and increasing productivity. The integrated veterinary response system follows a structured approach to timely intervention and disease control.
