SHABD,NAGAON, February 20: Assam is all set to host the world’s largest Jhumur dance, also called ‘Jhumuir Binandini’ on 24th February, at Sarusajai Stadium Guwahati in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This grand cultural event will showcase Assam’s rich heritage along with the symbol of pride of the tea community, while aligning with the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment Summit, reinforcing the state’s economic and tourism potential.
The event will display the lively tradition of Assam while breaking the Guinness World Record through the participation of 7,500 dancers.
This comes after Assam already set a Guinness World Record for the biggest Bihu dancing performance
Jhumur artists from Biswanath and Koliabor districts along with other parts of the state Assam have started their journey to witness and participate in this historic moment.
Around 224 dancers from Biswanath and 124 dancers from Koliabor along with drummers flute players have started their journey from their respective districts to Guwahati after receiving the blessings of God at the temple, as they believe it is a significant moment for them to set the Guinness World Record.
