Teliamura, February 20, 2025: The state government is working with special emphasis on the welfare of people from all sections of society, including children, adolescents, women, and senior citizens. The inauguration of the CDPO office building in Teliamura will facilitate the implementation of government programs related to child nutrition and maternal protection in the area, said Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy.
Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed first floor of the Teliamura CDPO office, the minister highlighted that over the past five years, nearly ₹1,600 crore in loans and revolving funds have been provided to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to empower rural women across the state. He further mentioned that the Social Welfare and Social Education Department is currently running 54 different schemes.
To mark the occasion, four Saksham Anganwadi Centers under the Teliamura ICDS Project were provided with Smart TVs and water purifiers to enhance children’s recreation and health. Speaking at the event, Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, stated that the state’s development is progressing at a rapid pace. She emphasized that Tripura provides a higher proportion of social pensions compared to many other states in the country.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Teliamura Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Nirmal Sutradhar, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Sports and Culture of Teliamura Municipal Council Achintya Bhattacharya, Director of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate Apurba Krishna Chakraborty, and Teliamura ICDS Project CDPO Prithila Prasun Das.
The event was presided over by Teliamura Municipal Council Chairperson Rupak Sarkar.
