Tripura 7 Feb, 2025: A two-day handicraft awareness workshop was inaugurated yesterday at the Khowai Panchayat Samiti Hall. The workshop was inaugurated by Aparna Singha Roy, the Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad. The event was organized by the Department of Handloom, Handicrafts, and Sericulture. A total of 97 artisans participated in the workshop.
In her inaugural speech, the Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad stated that the workshop would play a crucial role in providing high-quality training to artisans, helping them enhance their skills.
The event was attended by Tinku Bhattacharya, Chairman of Khowai Panchayat Samiti; Uttam Adhikari, Vice Chairman; Nibas Saha, Vice Chairperson of Khowai Municipal Council; Anukul Das, Member of Zilla Parishad; Piyush Kanti Chowdhury, Member of Khowai Municipal Council; Pampa Karmakar, Assistant Director of the Department of Handloom, Handicrafts, and Sericulture; Ratanmani Sarkar, Handloom Officer; and Bijay Kumar Debnath, Chairman of Milan Tantubay Cooperative Society, among others.
During the event, supportive materials were distributed to 10 handloom and handicraft artisans.
