Agartala,1 Feb, 2025: In a joint late-night operation, Agartala GRP Police arrested two suspected human traffickers from Bamutia (Bogjur) and Taltala (Chechuria) areas. The accused had been on the run for a long time and had managed to evade multiple police searches at their residences.
The operation was carried out by Agartala GRP Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Sidhai Police Station, and Lefunga Police Station.
Arrested Individuals:
1. Rajdhan Sarkar (25)
• Residence: Taltala, Chechuria
• Jurisdiction: Sidhai Police Station, West Tripura
2. Akash Roy (27)
• Residence: Bamutia, Bogjur
• Jurisdiction: Lefunga Police Station, West Tripura
According to police sources, both individuals were wanted in connection with an ongoing human trafficking case. Despite several raids conducted earlier, they had managed to remain in hiding. However, based on intelligence inputs, authorities launched a coordinated effort and successfully apprehended them in the early hours of the morning.
Currently, a special police team is conducting a thorough interrogation at Agartala GRP Police Station. The accused will be presented before the Hon’ble Court today.
