Tripura 31 Jan, 2025: Once again, Khowai Police have achieved significant success in their anti-cannabis operation. The incident took place late Friday night in Rabicharan Para, located in the Tulashikhar area under the jurisdiction of Chanpahoar Police Station in Khowai district.
According to reports, late Thursday night, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chanpahoar Police Station, Ajit Debbarma, received confidential information that a local cannabis trader had been illegally cultivating a large quantity of cannabis on forest department land in Rabicharan Para. Acting on this tip-off, OC Ajit Debbarma, along with a large police force and with the assistance of the 6th Battalion TSR (Tripura State Rifles), conducted a raid from 2 AM to 4 AM. During the operation, the police destroyed approximately 200 cannabis plants.
Although no arrests were made in connection with the incident, OC Ajit Debbarma stated that the police would continue such operations in the future to protect the youth from the dangers of drug abuse.
