Assam Rifles, Customs and Tripura Police seize 3.9 lakh Yaba tablets worth ₹78 crore near Gandachera
Tripura 22 Dec, 2024: In a major anti-drug operation, a joint team of Assam Rifles, Customs officials and Tripura Police seized a consignment of 3.9 lakh Yaba tablets near Gandachera. The estimated market value of the seized tablets is ₹78 crore. An accused named Rakesh Mia was arrested in the operation. A motorcycle used for transporting the drugs was also seized.
According to the report, the Consignment was being smuggled from Karimganj to Sonamura via Gandachhara.
The Tripura Chief Minister shared the success on social media, emphasizing the government’s commitment to a ‘drug-free Tripura’. He congratulated the security forces for their unwavering commitment in the fight against drugs.
The operation strengthens the state’s ongoing crackdown on drugs and highlights the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies in the fight against drug trafficking.
