Agartala 17 December, 2024: The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) submitted a deputation to the Tripura Public Service Commission on Tuesday, demanding the postponement of the recruitment exam scheduled for December 22. The exam is for various Miscellaneous Posts, including Revenue Inspector and Election Inspector.
TSF highlighted that Tring, the significant cultural festival of the Twipra community, will be celebrated across Tripura on December 22. The celebrations will begin on the night of December 21 with cultural programs, music, and traditional dances to mark the festival and welcome the New Year.
The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has already declared a holiday on December 22 for the Tring Festival. Despite this, the Tripura Public Service Commission has scheduled a recruitment exam on the same day.
TSF Vice President John Debbarma stated, “Holding an exam on the day of the Tring Festival disrespects the cultural and emotional significance of the event.”
