Agartala 16 December, 2024: In a commendable initiative to provide quality healthcare to immobile elderly citizens and vulnerable groups, Ajanta Reang, the Community Health Officer of Birendra Nagar Sub-Health Centre under Kowaifang Primary Health Centre in South District, visited Lanka Joy Para on December 10, 2024.
Accompanied by ASHA worker Pobirong Reang, they traveled approximately 5 kilometers from the sub-health center to deliver essential healthcare services.
At Lanka Joy Para, they visited the homes of two elderly women Sawarati Reang (80 years old) and Pobointi Reang (89 years old) to provide necessary medical attention. Their blood pressure and blood sugar levels were measured and found to be normal. The team also offered advice on maintaining good health at this advanced age, emphasizing the importance of a substance-free lifestyle.
Additionally, the healthcare team visited the home of a pregnant woman, Kajoli Reang, at Ushamarai Para. They conducted a thorough health check-up for both the mother and the unborn child and provided counseling on family planning, nutrition, and other relevant health topics.
