Tripura 12 November, 2024: In a joint operation with the Customs Department, Assam Rifles seized a substantial cache of foreign cigarettes valued at approximately Rs 1.27 crore in Tripura. The operation took place in the Teliamura region on November 11, 2024, where security personnel confiscated around 10.4 lakh cigarette units and detained two individuals involved in the smuggling. In addition to the cigarette haul, a Bolero pickup vehicle used in the illegal transport was also seized.
