Tripura’s Agricultural Minister Highlights Club Roles in Building ‘Ek Tripura, shrestha Tripura’ at Sharad Samman Event
Mohanpur 07 November, 2024: In a call for unity through cultural celebrations, Tripura’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, emphasized the importance of community gatherings and festivals in strengthening social bonds. Speaking at the inauguration of the Sharad Samman awards ceremony at Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Office, he expressed that Bengal’s biggest festival, Durga Puja, brings people from all walks of life together, creating a shared enthusiasm across communities.
“Festivals foster unity and connection among people,” the Minister said. “The Bengali community eagerly anticipates the Sharad season all year. Tripura is a state that celebrates festivals with passion, welcoming all to join in the joy. Recognizing this spirit, the government acknowledges the Puja organizers with the Sharad Samman awards.” He also highlighted the crucial role of clubs in realizing the vision of ‘One Tripura, Best Tripura,’ urging them to continue supporting cultural and social activities.
The event featured speeches from several dignitaries, including Minister of State for Industry and Commerce Brishketu Debbarma, Chairman of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad Balai Goswami, and journalist Sujit Chakraborty. Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Officer Subhash Dutta delivered the welcome address, and Anita Debnath, Chairperson of the Mohanpur Municipal Council, presided over the event.
Other notable attendees included ADC Executive Member Rabindra Debbarma, Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Rakesh Dev, Bamutia Panchayat Samiti Chairman Deepak Kumar Sinha, and Hezamara BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma.
A total of 31 clubs were awarded under 11 categories in this year’s Sharad Samman. Additionally, Highway Youth Club was honored as the “Club of the Year” for its exemplary performances across various categories, setting an inspiring example for others.
