Kadamtala 15 Oct, 2024: In a shocking incident from Raanibari, Ward No. 3 of Piyarachhara under Kadamtala Police Station, a woman named Ratna Telenga (40) was seriously injured after being assaulted by her inebriated husband, Birju Telenga. The incident occurred late in the night and left Ratna with severe head injuries.
Upon receiving information, Kadamtala Police quickly responded to the scene and rushed the injured woman to the Kadamtala Primary Health Centre in their own vehicle. Dr. Bimal Das, the on-duty physician, provided initial treatment but referred her to the Dharmanagar District Hospital due to the severity of her head injuries.
Meanwhile, the Kadamtala Police apprehended the accused husband, Birju Telenga, and took him into custody for further questioning. The investigation into the matter is currently being led by ASI D M Chakma of Kadamtala Police Station.
