Jirania, September 9: In an effort to maintain peace, security, and communal harmony in the Jirania sub-division of West Tripura district, the district magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar has announced an extension of the movement restrictions under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Security Act, 2023.

The new order, effective from 1 AM last night, will remain in force until 1 AM on September 11, 2024. The restrictions are not applicable to military, paramilitary, or state police personnel engaged in law and order duties, as well as authorized individuals, emergency government officials, and persons requiring immediate medical attention.

Any violation of this order will result in punitive measures under Section 223 of the BNS, 2023.
