Agartala 17 August, 2024: The Youth Affairs and Sports Department is organizing a state-level knockout football tournament for U-14 girls in Jampui Hills. The event is scheduled to take place from August 20th to 22nd at the Sudhanwa Debbarma Memorial High School’s synthetic turf football ground.
A preparatory meeting was held yesterday at the Jampui Hills Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament. The meeting was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jampui Hills, Sumit Kumar Pandey, Deputy Collector of Jampui Hills, Benjamin Darlong, and officials from the departments of Public Health Engineering, Health, and Education.
A total of nine teams from across the state will compete in the tournament. To oversee the arrangements, an organizing committee and 10 sub-committees have been formed. Samir Debbarma, Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, provided this information.
The tournament is expected to be a significant event for promoting sports among young girls in the region, fostering both competition and camaraderie.
