Tripura 03-03-23: Ayuk Jamatia, a player from Friends Union Club in Tripura, was suspended for four years by the AIFF disciplinary committee for the offences of age fraud, forgery, and falsification, according to the report posted on the AIFF website. The player was the subject of the committee’s invocation of Article 62 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code, which is punished. The player was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 2,50,000 and, if he so chooses, to appeal the ruling under Article 117 of the code.
The player’s registration in the CRS has been ordered to be cancelled by the AIFF Player Status and Registration department after it was discovered that the player had two IDs there with dates of birth that differed by nearly eight years. The player acknowledged providing AIFF with two different birth certificates in order to register.
The player was unreachable despite the committee’s attempts to contact him both personally and through his club.
