Tripura 8 March, 2025: Madhuri Debbarma, Tripura’s first indigenous fashion designer, has been representing the state’s unique fashion designs both nationally and internationally. Her passion for fashion design was sparked in childhood while watching television, inspiring her to pursue a career in the field.
She has been working professionally as a fashion designer for 21 years and has made a significant mark in the industry. Over the years, various models have showcased her designs at fashion shows, wearing clothes crafted by her.
In 2018, Mamita Debbarma represented her custom-made attire in a beauty pageant and won, further cementing Madhuri’s reputation in the fashion world. Many other models have also worn her creations and represented her designs on various prestigious platforms.
Her contributions have earned her multiple “First Fashion Designer” awards in recognition of her pioneering work. Madhuri’s designs have also gained popularity in Tripura’s Kokborok music industry, with many artists donning her creations in music videos and performances.
While she has achieved remarkable success, her dream of making it to Bollywood remains alive, and she continues to work toward it with unwavering dedication.
