Tripura 28 Feb, 2025: Longtarai Valley, April 13-17, 2025 The 51st State-Level Biju Mela and Festival is set to begin on April 13 and will continue for five days, concluding on April 17. The festival will be organized at the Chaumanu Biju Mela Ground. The decision was taken today during a preparatory meeting held at the Longtarai Valley Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
The meeting was attended by Industries & Commerce Minister Santwana Chakma, Dhalai Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Susmita Das, MLA Shambhulal Chakma, Dhalai District Magistrate Saju Wahid A, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uttam Kumar Bhaumik, along with officials from various departments and representatives from different levels of the Chakma community.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Santwana Chakma emphasized that the Biju Festival is a significant cultural celebration for the Chakma community. She highlighted the importance of presenting the festival as a symbol of cultural unity and stressed the need to invite cultural groups from all districts of the state as well as neighboring states. The minister also urged people from all walks of life to contribute to the successful organization of the festival.
