Tripura 21 December, 2024: Healthcare workers are providing regular palliative care services to bedridden elderly patients by visiting them at home. On December 19, 2024, a team from the Tirubamchhara Ayushman Arogya Mandir, under the Bimal Sinha Memorial Sub-Divisional Hospital in Dhalai district, visited the home of Rajlakshmi Debbarma (55), an elderly woman from Anandabazar Para in Srirampur ADC Village. She has been bedridden due to a stroke (CVA) and has long been suffering from hypertension.
The healthcare team, including Community Health Officer Deepjyoti Choudhury and ASHA worker Jyotsna Debbarma, conducted examinations at her home.
They checked her blood pressure and sugar levels while providing essential medical advice to her family members. They also guided the family on patient care, including dietary requirements, regular health monitoring, and consulting doctors when necessary.
