Kailashahar 29 November, 2024: A workshop on the National Mental Health Program was held today at the Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar, Unakoti district. The program brought together key health officials and professionals from the region to discuss mental health awareness and management.
The event was attended by Dr. Sandipan Bhattacharjee, District Immunization Officer, along with one Medical Officer, one Nursing Officer, and MPS representatives from each health center in the district.
Dr. Kishan Debbarma, a psychiatrist at the Unakoti District Hospital, conducted a detailed presentation on various aspects of the National Mental Health Program. Through a PowerPoint presentation, Dr. Debbarma elaborated on identifying symptoms of mental illnesses, appropriate ways to interact with individuals affected by mental health issues, and methods for maintaining personal mental well-being.
The Chief Health Officer of Unakoti district shared the details of the event through a press release, emphasizing the importance of such workshops in raising awareness and equipping healthcare providers with the tools to manage mental health effectively.
