Khowai, June 27, 2024 — Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), 10,830 families in Khowai district have received permanent housing, significantly improving their living conditions. This initiative aims to provide affordable and secure homes, contributing to the government’s goal of housing for all.
The distribution of homes in Khowai district includes:
- Khowai Block: 2,156 houses
- Tulashikhar Block: 1,848 houses
- Padmabil Block: 940 houses
- Mungiakami Block: 1,561 houses
- Kalyanpur Block: 1,906 houses
- Teliyamura Block: 2,419 houses
Each house, constructed at a cost of ₹1.30 lakh, is part of the effort to ensure that families have access to durable and well-built housing. The District Magistrate’s office has confirmed the completion of these homes, marking a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to provide adequate housing.
