Tripura, 05 Oct 2026: Tipra Motha Party (TMP) won 13 of the 15 Village Committees under Ambassa RD Block in the Village Committee elections, while the BJP secured one committee and an independent candidate won one, as counting concluded peacefully under tight security today.
Counting began at 8 am at the Ambassa RD Block counting centre for the elections held on September 28. The entire process was completed without any untoward incident, according to Ambassa RD Block BDO Barnita Biswas.
The counting was conducted across 10 tables in five rounds. Election officials first counted votes cast for the Election Duty Board, followed by counting of the ballot votes.
Candidates, polling agents and election personnel entered the counting centre under tight security before the process began.
Biswas said the counting, like the polling process, was completed peacefully and smoothly due to coordinated efforts by the Election Commission and the administration and the security arrangements put in place.
The final results showed TMP emerging as the dominant party in Ambassa RD Block, winning 13 of the 15 Village Committees. The BJP won one committee, while an independent candidate secured the remaining committee.
