UP News, 31 May: The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Rajeev Krishna as the state’s new Director General of Police (DGP), making him the first permanent police chief of the state since 2022.
A 1991-batch IPS officer, Rajeev Krishna had been serving as the acting DGP since May 2025 after succeeding Prashant Kumar. His appointment marks a significant development in the leadership of the state’s police force.
The government expects the new DGP to strengthen law enforcement, enhance public safety, and lead key policing initiatives across Uttar Pradesh.
