Tripura, 27 May 2026: In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old youth identified as Mintish Marak died after being run over by a Udaipur-to-Sabroom bound train near the railway track adjacent to the Peratia Nagar forest area under Udaipur sub-division yesterday.
According to local sources, the youth allegedly took the extreme step following emotional distress linked to a love affair. His body reportedly remained on the railway track for a considerable period before locals informed the police.
Police from Garjee Outpost later reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The body has been sent to Gomati District Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Further investigation is underway.
