Tripura, May 17: In a successful joint operation conducted by the police of Khowai and Dhalai districts, Mungiakami Police recovered a missing Bolero vehicle belonging to KVK South Tripura and detained its driver.
Officer-in-Charge of Mungiakami Police Station, Raju Baidya, said that around 6:20 AM on Sunday, information was received from the South Tripura Police Control Room regarding the disappearance of a Bolero bearing registration number TR08-0921 from the Shantirbazar police station area. Following the alert, intensive naka checking was launched at several strategic locations across Khowai district.
At around 9:00 AM, SI Kasnarai Reang along with other police personnel spotted a suspicious white Bolero without a number plate at the 41 Mile naka point. When police signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver ignored the order and attempted to flee, prompting a chase operation.
With the assistance of police teams from Ambassa, Salema, and Kamalpur police stations in Dhalai district, the operation was intensified. Finally, at around 11:00 AM, police managed to intercept the vehicle and detain the driver at Mendi area under Salema police station.
Preliminary investigation confirmed that the recovered vehicle was the same Bolero reported missing from KVK South Tripura. Police sources stated that after completion of necessary verification and legal procedures, the vehicle will be handed over to its rightful owner.
Local residents have highly appreciated the prompt and coordinated action taken by the police teams involved in the operation.
