Sabroom, Apr 16. Tight security arrangements have been put in place ahead of the vote counting for the ADC elections in the 27-Muhuripur–Bhuratali and 28-Shilachhari–Manubankul constituencies, scheduled for April 17 at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office here.
A five-layer security cordon has been deployed across the counting centre, with the strong room already secured under round-the-clock surveillance. The area has been barricaded with tin fencing to prevent any unauthorized entry, officials said.
Heavy deployment of police personnel and TSR jawans has been carried out, while patrolling teams remain on standby to tackle any untoward situation.
Senior officials, including SP Narkati Shyamananda Sharma, SDPO Nityananda Sarkar and TSR 9th Battalion Deputy Commandant Banoj Biplab Das, reviewed the arrangements at a preparatory meeting held at Sabroom Mela Ground on Wednesday.
Authorities said all measures are in place to ensure smooth, free and peaceful completion of the counting process.
