Agartala Apr 16. Shyamal Debbarma, son of late Bishu Debbarma, a resident of Dayalpara ADC Village, Ward No. 2, has alleged that a false case was registered in his name following unrest during the TTAADC elections held on April 12.
In a signed statement, Debbarma said that around 10 am on the polling day, some outsiders created panic near Booth No. 19/40 by hurling bombs and firing from pistols.
He claimed that later at night, a case was lodged at Kalamchoura Police Station naming seven persons, with him making the complainant without his knowledge.
Debbarma asserted that he is unaware of the case and alleged it to be a conspiracy aimed at disturbing communal harmony in the area. He condemned the incident and appealed for maintaining peace among residents.
