Khowai, August 20: The Khowai Health Department on Wednesday convened a meeting at the District Magistrate’s office to review progress under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. District Magistrate Rajat Pant, IAS, chaired the session in presence of health officials, doctors, and staff.
The meeting assessed performance of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and sub-centres in TB screening, X-ray testing, and distribution of medicine kits. Officials discussed ways to improve testing coverage and address the shortage of X-ray machines.

“We were fortunate to have guidance from a state-level team on how other districts are expanding their screening and treatment. We have decided to tap local resources and involve the community to strengthen testing. Our goal is to make Khowai and ultimately Tripura TB-free,” DM Rajat Pant said.
The session ended with key resolutions on expanding diagnostic facilities and mobilising community participation in the TB elimination drive.
