Tripura, 21 July 2025: Under the National Oral Health Programme, a dental health camp was organized on July 16 by the Baijalbari Primary Health Centre at Baijalbari Higher Secondary School. A total of 67 students participated in the camp, including 32 boys and 35 girls.
During the camp, Dr. Jaba Debbarma, Dental Surgeon at Baijalbari PHC, conducted dental check-ups for the students. It was found that 29 students were suffering from tooth decay and related dental issues. Dr. Debbarma advised the students on proper dental care, emphasizing the importance of brushing teeth regularly and correctly, rinsing the mouth thoroughly after meals, and avoiding food harmful to dental health.
She also urged the students diagnosed with dental problems to visit the health center promptly for further consultation and treatment. As part of the initiative, all students were provided with free toothpaste and toothbrushes by the health workers.
The primary objective of this programme was to raise awareness among students about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
The camp was attended by health workers from Baijalbari PHC including Multi-Purpose Workers Speaker Debbarma, Sushmita Debbarma, Bishnu Biswas, and others. This information was shared through a press release issued by the Health Department.
