Agartala, July 20: Veteran journalist and Editor of Dainik Sambad, Pradip Dutta Bhowmik, passed away today around 3:45 PM at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he had been undergoing treatment for the past several days. His untimely demise has cast a pall of gloom over the media fraternity and political circles in Tripura.
Bhowmik, a stalwart in Tripura’s Bengali journalism, was widely respected for his fearless reporting, editorial integrity, and decades-long contribution to the field. Despite the best efforts of doctors, he breathed his last this afternoon, leaving behind a grieving family and a void in the world of journalism.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed profound grief and conveyed his heartfelt condolences. “I had been in regular contact with him and his family throughout his treatment. This is a deep personal loss,” the Chief Minister said.
