Cabinet Approves Massive Recruitment Drive in Education and Health Departments
Agartala, July 15, 2025: In a significant decision aimed at strengthening the education and healthcare infrastructure of the state, the Tripura Cabinet has approved the recruitment of over a thousand teaching professionals and medical officers. The announcement was made today by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference held at the State Secretariat.

Speaking to the media, Minister Chowdhury said that the Cabinet has given a green signal to the School Education Department to recruit a total of 1,061 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs). The recruitment process will be conducted through the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT).
Candidates with a postgraduate degree and the requisite percentage of marks will be eligible to apply for these positions.
In addition to this, the School Education Department will also recruit 300 graduate teachers to meet the rising demand for quality education in the state.
The Minister further informed that under the Higher Education Department, 47 posts in various categories will be filled across state-run universities. Notably, the National Law University, Tripura, will independently carry out its recruitment process for the vacant posts.
In the healthcare sector, the Cabinet has also approved the recruitment of non-dental medical officers under the Health & Family Welfare Department through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
These recruitments are part of the government’s broader push to improve essential public services and create employment opportunities for qualified candidates across Tripura.
